If you've driven by Howdy Storage lately, you may have noticed a few changes! Since taking over as the new owners, we've been busy evaluating the property, making improvements, and planning for the future.
As a locally owned small business, we believe that taking care of our property is part of taking care of our customers. Whether you're storing household belongings, business equipment, or an RV, you deserve a storage facility that's well-maintained and cared for.
Here's a little peek at what we've been working on this week!
One of the most exciting changes this week was the installation of our new Howdy Storage sign!
We partnered with Signarama to give our facility a fresh, updated look. A new sign might seem like a small detail, but to us, it represents a new chapter for Howdy Storage.
We want our facility to be easy to recognize and welcoming to both our current renters and future customers.
And we have to admit, seeing our new sign go up made everything feel a little more official!
We've also been working with Precision Garage Doors of Brazos Valley to evaluate the doors throughout our facility.
This week, we received estimates for several important improvements, including:
Replacing worn trim around the storage unit doors
Leveling doors to improve their operation and fit
Addressing gaps that could allow water, dust, or pests to enter
Making additional repairs and improvements to our automatic entrance gate
These improvements are especially important because our 10×15 storage units are non-climate-controlled.
While no outdoor-access storage unit can be completely protected from the elements, we want to do everything reasonably possible to help keep our units in good condition.
We're excited to get these projects underway!

Another important focus has been drainage and water management around the property.
This week, GPI came out and added downspouts to some of our existing gutters to help direct rainwater away from areas where it could cause problems.
They're also evaluating some leaks so we can better understand where water is coming from and determine the most effective repairs.
Living in Bryan/College Station, we know Texas weather can be unpredictable. Heavy rain can show up quickly, and proper drainage is an important part of maintaining any property.
We're taking these concerns seriously and working toward long-term solutions rather than simply covering up problems.
We're learning that owning a storage facility comes with a pretty long to-do list!
Some improvements are easy to see, like a beautiful new sign. Others, like drainage work, door adjustments, and gate repairs, may not be as noticeable.
But they're all important.
Our goal isn't to make everything perfect overnight. It's to consistently make Howdy Storage a better place for the people who trust us with their belongings.
We're also grateful to be working with other local businesses along the way. Supporting businesses in our community is important to us, and we appreciate the expertise they're bringing to these projects.
To our current renters, thank you for being part of Howdy Storage. We appreciate your patience as we work through improvements and your trust as we begin this new chapter.
And if you're looking for storage in College Station, we'd love the opportunity to earn your business!
